Top Ten Finish - Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship
With the Late Model schedule covering only 13 Friday night races for the season, Kelly has decided that she is going to take part in a limited amount of karting for the 2009 season in Honda Senior Lite.

First Late Model Test - Kawartha May 6th
Following a long winter with many hours of work on the new race car, Kelly and the team took to the track at Kawartha Speedway for a first days testing in a Late Model Stock Car.

Kelly Wood Named Development Driver for Wide Open Motorsports; #9 Mark Dilley.
Kelly has been named as a development driver for Wide Open Motorsports. At a recent Late Model test session, veteran NASCAR driver Mark Dilley was very impressed by the talent and maturity shown by this young 18 year old driver.

Kelly has recently moved up into Limited Late Model Stock car racing and makes her debut at Kawartha Speedway this Wednesday, August 13th.

Kelly and the team have made the decision to move up into Limited Late Model. Following her win at Barrie Speedway and several other strong races, she certainly has not been intimidated by the close door to door racing and has had some impressive finishes.

PROgression: Kelly Wood - NASCAR Whelen Series
She turned heads quickly when she entered the Ontario karting scene just two short years ago and Huntsville's Kelly Wood is doing the same in stock cars as she won in just her third NASCAR Whelen Series start last Saturday. Racing under the lights at Barrie Speedway, Wood captured a 25-lap Feature in scoring her maiden stock car win.

Kelly Wood wins her first stock car race at Barrie Speedway on Saturday night in only her third start.
Stock car racing is very different than any other racing and Kelly has been testing in preparation, she has become very comfortable with the oval racing and this actually showed on Saturday night.

Huntsville Teen prepares for NASCAR
Huntsville's Kelly Wood has started her preparation for a career in NASCAR, following a winter of testing various race car classes in Florida and some spring dates at Mosport, Kelly has now decided that she is going to make a career for herself in Stock cars. She has already run several successful tests at the Mosport oval and is now ready to race. It's one thing to run an oval on your own, getting used to the very different style of driving a 3000lb stock car, but for Kelly's second outing in a limited late model, it was time to run with another car to see how she dealt with driving at 90mph with doors and fenders scraping.

Kelly Wood Tests Late Model Stock Car and Formula Ford
On Sunday the 27th, Kelly was at the Mosport oval for a days testing in a late model stock car. The day started in a two-seater with her instructor taking the wheel and showing her the line. With a quick change, kelly took to the track and was soon up to speed, quick enough in fact that after 6 laps her instructor decided that the wall was getting too close for comfort and moved her into the single seat race car.

Kelly Wood - Skip Barber Shootout
Kelly Wood got her 2008 season off to an exciting start last weekend as the Huntsville teenager travelled to Sebring International Raceway and participated in the Skip Barber Karting Scholarship Shoot-out. With only two years of racing behind her in karts, it was a steep learning curve getting to grips with a formula car and an intense week-long schedule.

After claiming her first club championship a week ago at Toronto Kart Club, Huntsville's Kelly Wood now has her second just one week later! The club contested its final race weekend of the season Saturday at Goodwood Kartways and the Rotax Senior title fight came down to the final race of the calendar where Wood once again emerged Champion.
