Kelly back at TKC for race #3
Looking to repeat her sensational double-win weekend from the Toronto Kart Club's second race a week ago, Team Green Speed's Kelly Wood was back at Goodwood Kartways last weekend for the third race of the TKC schedule and impressed among a SRFKC prep field.
On track first in Rotax Senior, Wood qualified a dazzling third before a mechanical failure derailed her run just three laps into the prefinal. Starting the final from near the back of the pack, her task was made tougher when the front row botched a pair of start attempts at a cost of two of the ten race laps. Unfazed, Wood got down to business quickly in the eight remaining laps of the main event and cut through the field of 18 to reach seventh by the checker. She was pressing for sixth when the laps ran out.
Senior Light brought another SRFKC prep field as teams ready for the Series opener this coming weekend and Wood was strong once again in qualifying eighth. She took one more spot in the prefinal before producing a brilliant main event where she made a confident and calculated run to second.
Wood will be back in action with Team Green Speed this coming weekend as the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship begins at Goodwood.
