On Sunday the 27th, Kelly was at the Mosport oval for a days testing in a late model stock car. The day started in a two-seater with her instructor taking the wheel and showing her the line. With a quick change, kelly took to the track and was soon up to speed, quick enough in fact that after 6 laps her instructor decided that the wall was getting too close for comfort and moved her into the single seat race car.
Running several sessions with coaching, she managed to run some very consistent fast laps by the end of the afternoon. A big thank you to Rino Montanari for some great coaching. Another test at the oval is being arranged for early summer and with the opportunity of a race late in the season.
Kelly returned to Mosport on Wednesday for her first full test in a formula ford after much work to find a suitable seat position (thank you Mark) She took to the track running conservative laps at first, Kelly set about building her speed and was pushing very hard by the third session, but unfortunately dropped a wheel in corner which prematurely ended a promising first test. She had by this time shaved 6 seconds of her previous fast lap.
