It Keeps on Raining!

Following the move to Limited Late Model, the weather Gods have not been very cooperative to Kelly and the team.

Avery strong outing in the LLM at Kawartha on August 29th was bought to an early close. Running 4th in her first heat, she then went on to finish 7th in the qualifying heat. With a 25 lap feature coming up, Kelly and the team were confident of a good finish. Starting off pole, she ran the first three laps on the outside before making the move on the back straight to take the lead. Starting to pull away and going into the sixth lap, contact from behind in the corner caused a caution flag to be thrown. Starting last, Kelly soon had passed two cars and was making another move through the field when again contact caused her to spin. The car would not re-fire resulting an ending to her evening. The crew chief and team were very happy with her speed on the track and many other teams around the paddock were asking who this young girl was and where she had come from following such an impressive first outing.

Kelly's only other outing on the track was at Kawartha on September 6th where she managed to run one heat race and qualified again for the semi-feature before the heavens opened and the race was called off.

Although Kelly has not managed to race due to the weather, she has been very busy working on the No. 9 NASCAR team of Mark Dilley at Mosport, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres, Cayuga and Barrie Speedway. The exposure and experience of working on the crew is certainly giving her the chance to learn many of the skills required to run a successful team in the Canadian Tire NASCAR series. Kelly has also been featured on T.S.N. at Cayuga Motor speedway, where a short segment was shot of her while working on the team outlining her ambition to one day run in the NASCAR series.

Kelly is hoping to run at Kawartha this Friday but already the weather does not look very favourable.
