5th Double win of the season
For the fifth time this season Kelly Wood has produced a daily double at the Toronto Kart Club in winning both the Rotax Senior and Senior Light races. Back to her home Goodwood Kartways track after eight weeks on the road, Kelly turned the trick at Race #12 of the TKC Schedule.
Breaking from routine, TKC had qualifying heat races over timed sessions for race twelve and Kelly adapted very well to the flipped grid format. In Senior Light, she guided her Goodwood/F4-K to 2nd and 3rd place heat finishes to earn the off-pole position, and she repeated in Rotax Senior where she was again 2nd and 3rd for Goodwood/Intrepid, yet this time qualified P1.
After a good start in the Senior Light final, Kelly took the lead and held to the chequered flag in extending her championship lead. She also leads the club championship in Senior Rotax, and extended that class point margin after taking off from the start and pulling away from the field.
Kelly would like to thank Marco and Daniel DiLeo from Goodwood Kartsport for all their help and encouragement this weekend, and she is looking forward to the final Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship race at Goodwood this coming weekend.
