Top Ten Finish - Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship
With the Late Model schedule covering only 13 Friday night races for the season, Kelly has decided that she is going to take part in a limited amount of karting for the 2009 season in Honda Senior Lite.
With only two 10 minute practice sessions on Friday at Sutton, Kelly took to the track on Sunday morning still making changes. Qualifying 12th out of 28 was a good effort for her first time in a kart for a long while. Following a difficult start, Kelly was shuffled back to 20th in the Pre final, but with her normal determination she fought her way back to 13th.
Starting 13th on the grid in the Final, she very quickly made her way up to 7th but with a kart that was getting really tight, she finished the race in a solid 9th place. "It was great to get back into a kart again and have some fun" Said Kelly "looking forward to the next race in two weeks time."
