With a great effort all night from Kelly and the team, the 61 car was brought home to a first top five Feature finish.
With the weather not looking too great, it was a surprise to see a field of 23 late models head out on track for practice. After being lined up for the heat race, Kelly took the green in 5th place, making up one position in the 10 lap race, and crossed the line in 4th. This gave her a 5th place starting position for the Semi-Feature where she went on to hold her spot for the remainder of the race.
Starting the Feature in 3rd, Kelly made a great start and went to 2nd place putting pressure on the leader for the next 8 laps. After a few more laps, she was shuffled back to 5th when the first caution of the night came out on lap 20. With multiple cautions after that, racing eventually got back underway. Kelly fell as far down as 7th but quickly made her way back up to 4th spot when yet another caution was flagged with just a few laps to go. She held onto her position until the last lap finishing in a solid 5th place.
"The whole evening went really well with team efforts, limited problems and a solid run. This 5th place was a great finish for me." Said Kelly.
